Nobody wakes up excited about burglar alarms. Fair enough. Most people only think about security the morning after something has happened, or when the old alarm starts chirping at 2am and has to be silenced with a broom handle.
Who we are
The security side of a team that makes technology behave.
We are New Forest Security Services, the security and safety side of New Forest Technology Services: a Lymington-based team that spends its days making technology do what it was supposed to do in the first place.
We design and install intruder alarms, fire and carbon monoxide detection, commercial fire alarms, CCTV, video intercoms and access control, plus the quieter stuff: leak detection with automatic water shut-off, frost alerts, panic buttons and air quality. Then we make all of it work together, and with everything else in the building.
A lot of our work starts with someone else’s system. An alarm that goes off when the cat sneezes. Cameras that record everything and show nothing. An installer who stopped answering the phone. We are quite good at putting those right.
How we think
Out of the box, not out of a kit box.
Most security is sold by the box: a panel, three detectors and a bell. We start with a question instead. How would someone actually get in? What else could go wrong in this house? And when it does, how would you want to find out?
The answer is usually layered: the garden first, then the doors and windows, then inside. Alerts that show you what is happening rather than a zone number. Fire and water detection that tells you which room. And all of it joined up with the lights, the heating, the gates and whatever smart home you already have.
When the piece we need does not exist, we build it. We write our own drivers and integrations, which is a slightly unusual thing for a security installer to say, but it means we rarely have to tell anyone “that can’t be done”.
What we use
Kit we would put in our own homes.
For intruder and fire detection we are an accredited Ajax partner. We chose it because it does the things we care about: two-way encrypted radio that notices when it is being jammed, alarms that come with photos, fire detectors that talk to each other, and the ability to work with other systems.
For cameras, door entry and access control we pick the right equipment for each job rather than pushing one brand, and we will always tell you why.
